Ipswich United rebounded to beat Cardiff City 3-2 at Portman Road with two goals from Connor Ralls. George Hirst should have opened the scoring with an exquisite through ball from Thomas Hirst but his shot was expertly blocked by Runarsson.
But in the 20th minute, Burns combined with him before crossing for Ramsey to score.
Conor Chaplin
After conceding three times against Leeds in their opener, the Tractor Boys responded with an inspiring and inspired display at home against Derby County. Chaplin proved himself as an ever-present threat up front with his speed becoming an additional key asset to their cause.
Kieran McKenna’s men trailed 2-0 at half-time due to Aaron Ramsey and Joe Ralls goals, but refused to give up. Nathan Broadhead scored an excellent strike which reignited Ipswich fans before Freddie Ladapo scored two more inside-box goals to complete Ipswich’s comeback.

Omari Hutchinson
Hutchinson excels at taking on opponents head on or playing clever passes through the lines, which were showcased against Cardiff.
On loan from Chelsea, the 21-year-old showed glimpses of promise as he flashed a right-footed shot just wide of target and made runs that would have pleased Kieran McKenna. Additionally, he was involved in Ipswich’s opening opportunity when he raced down the left and set Ramsey up with space for an easy finish.
At the restart, he combined well with Broadhead down the right, almost setting up Yakou Meite for an easy finish, only for Runarsson to save his header as the home side continued their attack with intent. Clearly too good for League Two level play, he must push on and gain regular first team opportunities; one for the future.
Conor Broadhead
After Leeds United ended Ipswich Town’s unbeaten start last weekend, Kieran McKenna’s side were put through an intense examination from Cardiff City at Portman Road. Joe Ralls and Aaron Ramsey gave Cardiff an early 2-0 advantage but then Nathan Broadhead and Freddie Ladapo made a dramatic turnaround in the match’s outcome.
Within six minutes of play beginning, Ipswich were level thanks to Broadhead’s sublime strike from outside the area. His involvement continued when they were awarded a penalty in the 70th minute but Jak Alnwick saved his shot.
Ipswich searched for an equaliser, and they almost found it on 83 minutes when George Hirst’s header from Ryan Reynolds corner was well saved by Vaclav Hladky. Hirst then had another opportunity with nine minutes remaining but his shot went wide of the far post.
Christian Walton has been sidelined with a foot injury, forcing Alex Runarsson into first choice goalkeeping duties at Ipswich Town. Romaine Sawyers and Mahlon Romeo should retain their positions on either flank as left and right back respectively, while Jordan Flores and Perry Ng could feature.
George Hirst
Kieran McKenna’s side were expected to respond quickly from their 4-3 loss against Leeds last weekend at Portman Road against Cardiff – however they were given an extremely challenging opponent in Cardiff who gave them plenty of fight back.
Carlan Grant found space down the right before firing a low cross across goal for Sheffield Wednesday striker Aaron Ramsey to convert. The visitors quickly took control after halftime.
Home side attempted a response; Conor Chaplin’s elegant through ball played George Hirst clean through but his shot was saved by Runarsson.

But they found a way back into the game with two goals just before the hour mark: Nathan Broadhead scored an excellent close-range finish off an outside-of-the-boot cross that somehow managed to slip under everyone in the area, followed by six minutes left when Freddie Ladapo made an incredible acrobatic rebound nudge for another goal – two striking performances that will no doubt grab everyone’s attention across England and Wales.
